It was announced during the Emergency Budget on 22 June 2010 that the Government is to review the PAYE system with a view to exploring ways in which it can be improved in order to reduce costs and to make it easier for both employers and HMRC to administer. As a first stage of the review, the Government will be looking consulting with employers and payroll providers over the summer on mechanisms to support more frequent or real time PAYE data.
