 Note

From 6 April 2012 it is only possible to contract-out via a defined benefit (salary-related) scheme. Contracting-out for defined contribution (money purchase) schemes came to an end on 5 April 2012. For 2012/13 no rebate is payable in respect of COMP schemes. Contracting-out for slary-related schemes will come to an end in April 2016 consequent on the introduction of the single-tier state pension.
